Counseling for Women
Many of the women I work with are experiencing the challenges and joys of new motherhood,. Many are struggling during the post-partum period and are seeking support reducing stress and anxiety. Other clients are suffering from devastating loss or at a place in their grieving when they feel the need to reach out for additional support.
My psychotherapeutic approach stems from a mind/body perspective and integrates Gestalt and Somatic psychology. Incorporating mindfulness tools and practices, I focus on the reduction of stress, and the individuals innate ability to navigate through grief and loss. The foundation of my practice is an integrative one that, at times, involves collaborating with my horses, Sedona and Rebel, as partners to encourage healing. As well, some clients prefer to receive Craniosacral Bodywork, within a counseling session.
Biodynamic Craniosacral TherapyWhat is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a relaxing practice that allows the body to heal itself. It involves a holistic, “whole-person” approach in working with the health of an individual, and encourages vitality and a sense of well-being. It is an effective form of treatment for a number of illnesses and nervous system issues, such as headaches, anxiety, insomnia, and stress. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is suitable for all ages, including babies, children, and the elderly. Clients are fully clothed during sessions.
